Biography

Mark Langdale Hough began his training as a painter in a roundabout way; through learning the old-world craft of fine violin making, he both trained his eye and hand for detail and developed a love for finding the perfect balance of form and function that meets in a truly beautiful work. A master luthier since 2005, Mark soon broadened his devotion to the arts through study and practice of traditional painting and drawing. His focus on Sacred Art was inspired and informed through his years of being surrounded by the masterpieces of visual art and music that have enriched the Church for centuries.

Mark's paintings have been exhibited and awarded in several national and international juried shows, including annual shows of the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists, the Hudson Valley Art Association, and the American Artists Professional League. I currently serve on the board of directors for the Madison Arts Society.
